I do not own this myself, but purchased it twice as gifts (one for a co-worker and one for my father). I plan to purchase for myself sometime in the future -- due to RAVE reviews.
I bought this after reading the good reviews. I had a larger cordless drill I had purchased but gave it to my son in law because I wanted a smaller hand held unit, like this Denali. Imagine my surprise when I tried to insert a bit and there was no locking mechanism to keep the bits stable. The brief manual offered no help or explanation. Now I'm stuck with this thing that seems to be unsafe. My mistake was assuming all drills should have bit locks.
It took 3 days just to process the order. Ok here are the few things I used this screw driver for: 1) Cabinet brackets, knobs, and hinges = could only screw in screws 80% in. 2) Server rack mounted switches = weak drive on the Denali once again. Also Amazon says 5-7 days for shipping, but it took me almost 2 weeks to get it. Every ohter website is selling this unit for $25, so if you are interested in this item google it up. I had to finish by hand.
processing the order instantly and shipping out the same day. I used my regular screw driver to finish and I was amazed at how easy it was to finish the job this unit could not do. I am used to [.]. Conclusion: This thing is dainty and should only be used for making gingerbread houses or really thin pine board (ig. bird houses and doll houses) I am dissappointed, my old Black and Decker Ni-MH battery had 10x the power this so called Lithium Ion power has. P.S.
I thought amazon was supposed to beat out small time online retailers :-(
I have owned this tool for a bit over a year. But now it will not take a charge and just gives a pathetic little moan when I pull the trigger. So I had to use a manual driver to provide final tightening.
I should say that my time of ownership did not include very much use. It has a nice feel and a great assortment of bits. It was OK for light tasks, but for anything heavier or of long duration it fell short.
It also would not drive too many screws without a recharge, which takes some time, so there I am with my manual driver again. Once in awhile I would pull it out, perhaps to assemble something. It would turn a long screw in well enough, but did not have the torque to really tighten.
The light is a big help. I trashed it, but kept the bits.
for the size it is just the right size just unough power for the job
